Please read these terms carefully before submitting your project. By ticking the acceptance box and sending your submission, you agree to all of them. If you don't agree, please don't submit.
1. Who we are
"CMON", "we" and "us" mean [CMON legal entity name] and its affiliated companies. "You" means the person or team submitting a project. "Submission" means everything you send us through this portal, including files, links, text and later messages.
2. Voluntary submission
You are sending your Submission voluntarily and at your own initiative, so that CMON can evaluate it. CMON has not requested it, and you are not entitled to any payment or compensation for submitting.
3. No obligation for CMON
Sending a Submission does not oblige CMON to review it, reply to it, give feedback, return materials, negotiate, develop or publish your game. CMON may decline any Submission at any time without giving a reason.
4. Similar ideas and independent development
CMON designs, develops, reviews and publishes many games. It works with internal teams and external designers, and receives many submissions. CMON may already be working on, or may later develop or receive, games, mechanics, themes, titles or concepts that are similar or identical to yours.
You agree that CMON is free to continue that work, and that any similarity does not by itself give you a claim against CMON or a right to compensation or credit.
5. No confidentiality
Your Submission is not confidential, and CMON has no duty of confidentiality or non-disclosure towards you, unless CMON has agreed otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by an authorised CMON representative. Please don't send anything you consider a trade secret.
CMON intends to use Submissions internally for evaluation and will not display them publicly on its website.
6. Your ownership and your guarantees
You keep ownership of your game and materials. Submitting does not transfer your rights to CMON.
You confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live;
- you created the Submission, or you have all the rights and permissions needed to submit it, including from co-designers and artists;
- the Submission does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights, and does not use third-party intellectual property without permission;
- you are free to submit it, and you are not bound by another agreement that prevents you from doing so;
- the information you give us is true and accurate.
7. Permission to evaluate your Submission
You give CMON a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to use your Submission for evaluation. This includes copying, storing, printing, sharing it within CMON and with its advisers and contractors, building physical or digital test versions, and playtesting it.
For evaluation and testing, CMON may process your Submission in different ways and with different digital tools, including automated and AI-assisted tools and third-party service providers.
This permission covers evaluation only. It does not allow CMON to publish or sell your game.
8. No agreement until a contract is signed
Nothing in these terms, and nothing CMON says or does during evaluation, is an offer or a commitment to license, buy or publish your game. Any such arrangement exists only when you and CMON sign a separate written contract.
9. Submission format and security
- Send your materials as PDF files only.
- Links are accepted only to well-known platforms, such as YouTube and Google Drive.
- CMON may delete, without opening them, any files or links that don't meet these requirements or that appear unsafe.
- Don't send physical prototypes unless CMON asks for one in writing. CMON is not responsible for unrequested materials and will not return them.
10. Communication
All communication about your Submission takes place through this portal. Please don't send submissions or follow-ups to the personal or work email addresses of CMON staff. Messages sent outside the portal may not be read or answered.
11. Personal data
CMON handles your personal data according to the [CMON Privacy Policy – link]. We use it to manage and evaluate your Submission and to contact you about it.
12. Release and limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, you release CMON from any claim arising from the review, use for evaluation, or non-use of your Submission, including claims based on similarity between your Submission and any current or future CMON product. CMON is not liable for loss of, or damage to, the materials you submit. Keep your own copies.
13. Changes to these terms
CMON may update these terms. The version in force when you send your Submission applies to it.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of [jurisdiction].
15. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, contact us through this portal.
